At this institute, Jerod works with secondary mathematics educators to strengthen their understanding of statistical methods and assist educators in developing engaging classroom activities that focus on modeling and data analysis. He designed activities for and facilitated Timberline’s first math circle for parents and students and he started the school’s first Discrete Mathematics course.ĭuring the summer, Jerod serves as an instructor for the Modeling and Data Analysis Institute at Boise State University. During his time teaching AP Statistics at Timberline, student enrollment has increased from 60 to 160 students. Jerod has a passion for promoting mathematics as a subject. The flipped method provides direct instruction outside of the classroom so that students have the opportunity to engage in collaborative activities during class. In his classroom, Jerod has incorporated the flipped method of instruction. He previously taught middle and high school mathematics classes for four years at Heritage Christian School and one year at The Ambrose School. Jerod Morehouse has been a classroom teacher for 13 years and has spent the last eight years teaching 10th-12th grade Advanced Placement (AP) Statistics and various algebra courses at Timberline High School.
